Summer and Winter Fire‑Lighting Ban
Between June 1 and August 31, as well as December 1 and February 28, a fire‑lighting ban is in effect.
Violations may be punished by the notary (jegyző) with fines of up to 150,000 HUF.
According to the National Fire Protection Regulation, breaches of fire safety rules and of the burning ban may be sanctioned by the competent authorities depending on the severity of the violation.
If a breach of fire safety regulations results in a fire, the fire protection fine generally ranges from 100,000 HUF to 1,000,000 HUF, and 200,000 HUF to 3,000,000 HUF if the fire brigade had to intervene in the extinguishing activity.
The person causing the fire is liable for any damage incurred. If outdoor burning results in significant property damage or endangers people, criminal proceedings may also be initiated against the person responsible.

The burning of leaves and garden waste is prohibited under the applicable legal regulations. The municipality may grant an exemption from this ban through a local decree, in which it sets out the conditions and circumstances of burning.
According to the decree of the Municipal Council of Rábakecöl, the burning of garden waste is permitted between March 1 and May 31, and between September 1 and November 30.
Due to the evening near‑ground inversion (temperature change in air layers), burning may only be carried out between 10:00 and 18:00, and only in calm weather. Burning is prohibited on public holidays and Sundays.
